The castle of St. Hilarion is one of the most interesting places in the region of Kyrenia (Girne). The castle is located on the top of a mountain cliff at an altitude of 732 meters above sea level. This is one of the three castles in the Kireni Mountains, along with Buffavento and Kantar, who served to protect Cyprus from Arab raids. It is built on the site of the ancient monastery of St. Hilarion, named after the founder of Palestinian monasticism, settled in a cave on top of a steep cliff. The castle has a rich history and architecture.
